　You can do a simple experiment to show that black is a better collector of solar energy than white. To begin with, paint the cans-one black, one white. Next, fill the cans with water. Additionally, put the cans in direct sunlight for three hours. Eventually, check the temperature of the water in the cans and compare. To sum up, you can find out that the temperature of the water in the black can is higher.

　It is easy to pot a plant f you follow the right procedure. First, you have to cover bottom of pot with small stones. And don’t forget to put two inches of soil on top of rocks. Second, make a hole in center of soil so that you can drop plant into soil. Third, add soil until it almost reaches top of pot. And then, press soil down with thumbs. Finally, just water it regularly. It is quite fun to pot a plant if you abide by the above steps.

A terrible day-revised 1

　Jeff was an insurance agent, and he just embarked on his new job after he graduated from college yesterday. Jeff told himself that everything would be fine before he went out. However, things were out of controlled and wasn't like he thought at first. It seemed that Jeff was under a curse when he left for his company. 　Initially, he fell down for he did not notice a big pit in front of him. His clothes got dirty and had a big stain on it. All of a sudden, the weather worsened and it rained cats and dogs. Thus, Jeff decided to take a bus instead of walking. Nonetheless, the bus delayed for over 30 minutes. Jeff was not only nervous but anxious. No sooner had he rushed to company after getting out of the bus than he stepped on the dog shit. After he cleaned his shoes, he ran to his company without delaying and made an apology to the general manager. But the general manager took it as an excuse so he was very angry with him and laid him off immediately. 　All Jeff’s hopes about his job dashed to pieces and he was completed in despair. He went back home and cried out for a while. Jeff really suffered a miserable experience and it made him very disappointed. He regarded it as a test for him and started to find a new job. But he remembered that he had to be careful when he on his way to work next time. 　As the proverb goes, “Accidents happen.” We never know what will happen at the next second, but we have to hold a positive attitude toward life and never give up the goals you want to reach.

Ben was an energetic college student, and all he loved to do was exercising. He had been enthusiastic about running since he was a child. In fact, he had won many first prizes in the running contests. Not long ago, he won the championship in the running competition at Olympic Games. As a consequence, he not only became a celebrity but also got a great deal of money. However, accidents happen. Ben ran into a serious car accident and was heavily injured on his way home. When he woke up, he found that everything had changed. The doctor told him that he couldn’t run anymore. So incredible was the news that Ben couldn’t face the music until he accepted his family and friends’ encouragement and company. Ben recovered from the bad wound gradually after several months’ treatment. Nevertheless, Ben’s passion for running didn’t disappear. He kept on working as possible as he could. As he wanted to become the best runner in the world, he exercised to strive for his best and he was convinced that “Practice makes perfect.” Many people were moved by Ben’s perseverance. Thus, the host of the running contest awarded the best attitude prize for Ben. Ben’s attitude toward his favorite thing set a good example for the public. Those who gave up themselves for they faced the similar situations like Ben would have self-confidence again by virtue of his personalities. Hence, we can learn from Ben’s bravery and become a man of courage.
